THE BUTTERFLY LESSON

One day, a small hole appeared in a cocoon; a man, who passed by, stopped for long hours to observe the butterfly, trying to get out through this little hole.

After a long time, it was as if the butterfly had given up, and the hole
was still so small. The butterfly had done all it could and couldn’t do anything else. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a small knife and opened the cocoon. The butterfly came out immediately, but its body was thin and numb; its wings were poorly developed and barely moved.

The man continued to watch, thinking that at any moment, the wings of the butterfly would open and be able to support the body of the butterfly so that it take flight. Nothing came of it!

The butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling on the ground with its thin body and stunted wings. He could never fly with the man’s gesture of kindness and good intention to help. The man did not understand that the passage through the narrow hole of the cocoon was the effort necessary for the butterfly to transmit fluid from its body to its wings. So that the butterfly can fly, it was the mold through which God made him pass to grow and develop.

Sometimes the effort is just what we need in our lives. If God
allowed us to live our life without encountering obstacles, we would be limited. We couldn’t be…
